We're excited to announce that CBC News is launching its
new home on Tumblr today. You can find
it at CBCNews.tumblr.com. If you follow
us there you can expect to find some of the amazing work that our multimedia
team produces on a daily basis: interactives, infographics, maps, photos and
videos. One of the many joys of the Internet
is finding new ways to tell stories and give them context. And one of the joys of Tumblr is that it's an
easy way to share visual content to a whole new audience online.
For the uninitiated, Tumblr is a microblogging platform like Twitter. But unlike Twitter, it is extremely easy to
share photos, videos and other multimedia content, and there is no character
limit. Tumblr users can follow other
blogs, and share other people's content by reblogging it on their own page. You don't have to have
your own Tumblr to see CBC News content there, but if you do we hope you
will follow us.
As with everything we do at CBCNews.ca, we would love to hear your
feedback. What would you like to see on
our Tumblr? Do you want to see only CBC
News content or would you like to see us reblogging from the Tumblr
community? Would you like to hear more
about the creative process behind our interactive and multimedia projects, or
get additional insight into the news stories?
It's a work in progress and you can help us serve you better. Drop us a line at community@cbc.ca.
