The annual Consumer Electronics Show, one of the world's largest technology shows, kicks off in Las Vegas on Monday.

The biggest electronics companies, including Sony, Intel and Microsoft, will be showing off the new gadgets and devices they hope will become the big moneymakers in 2012.

Reporter Peter Nowak will be covering CES from the show floor for CBC News. Some of the major trends to look out for, according to his event preview, include:

  • "Smart TVs" connected to the internet with improved user interfaces.
  • Thin and light laptop computers, known as "ultrabooks."
  • Improved and cheaper organic light emitting diode (OLED) televisions.
  • Evolving 3D technology, including glasses-free televisions.
  • Microsoft unveiling more details about its latest operating system, Windows 8.

But we also want to know what you, the members of our CBC Community, are most interested in for CES 2012.

What new gadgets are you most excited about? What new trends in consumer electronics sound most promising? And perhaps most importantly, will any of these products give you a reason to replace your tried-and-true devices at home?

We'll forward your questions to Peter Nowak in Las Vegas, who'll be answering them via text, photo and video from the floor of the show.
