Would you switch from iTunes to Google's music store?

Categories: Arts & Entertainment, Science & Technology

The music download store will be a competitor to Apple's iTunes store and, in the U.S., Amazon's MP3 store.

News outlets have reported that Google has signed with several record companies to sell their music on the new service, including Universal, EMI and Sony. It will complement the company's Google Music service, which is currently in beta, which allows users to store digital copies of their music on Google servers.

CNET also reports that the new service could interact with the Google+ social media service, allowing users to share tracks they've purchased with people on their friends list.

Canadian users will likely be left out of the loop as usual, though. Canada does not yet have access to the Google Music beta, Amazon's MP3 store or music streaming services like Spotify, which recently launched in the U.S.

If and when Google Music ever launches in Canada, would you consider using it instead of iTunes for your digital music? If so, why would you want to switch? Let us know in the comments section below.
