UPDATE (Nov. 11) Seven gems of the natural world will be recognized today, as an international contest seeking the New 7 Wonders of Nature announces its winners.
No Canadian wonders will be named in the final seven, as the Bay of Fundy did not make it to the final 14.
The competition pits heavyweights like the Great Barrier Reef against lesser-knowns like the Puerto Princesa Underground River in the Philippines.
The Bay of Fundy, which was the sole Canadian gem on the list, had vocal supporters like Comedian Rick Mercer and the premiers of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The Vote my Fundy campaign tried to win over the world, boasting that the bay has highest tides in the world, is home to over 12 species of whales, and has one of the greatest dinosaur extinction sites on the planet.
The winners will be announced later today, giving you one last chance to predict the victors.
