It took 11 years and 54 pairs of shoes, but Montreal resident Jean Béliveau finally accomplished his goal of walking around the world.

The 56-year-old came home Sunday morning after trekking across 75,500 kilometres.

Béliveau initiated the incredible journey after he experienced what he calls a "mid-life crisis."

"It was a crucial moment for me. I [thought] I should do something that is crazy, different than what we have in our society," he said.

The journey was also meant to raise awareness of his cause - peace and non-violence for all children.

Have you ever wanted to journey around the world? Plane, train or boat - how would like to do it?
