How do you get your news?

Owners of tablet computers say they consume more news than they ever did before, according to a new survey.

Do you relax with a tablet or the dead-tree version of the newspaper? (iStockPhoto)The study by BBC.com and Starcom MediaVest also suggests that tablets encourage stronger relationships with news providers. More than 60 per cent of those surveyed said they rely more on traditional news sources and less on aggregators like Google News.

Nearly 80 per cent of survey respondents said they read more stories and follow more topics than they did before. About the same proportion of people felt a tablet was an improvement over consuming news on a desktop computer or a smartphone.

About half of those surveyed said they rely on news apps rather than news websites on their tablets.

How do you consume your news? And do you view all your news online or do you still read the morning paper and watch the evening news before heading to bed?
