In a blog post for CBC, White Coat, Black Art host Dr. Brian Goldman made a plea to Sidney Crosby.

Crosby recently spoke about the concussion that's taken him out of professional hockey for several months. And while the star player is hopeful about returning to the game, he's not taking any chances with his injury.

"Maybe I could get by on 90 per cent, maybe I couldn't, but I'm not going to roll the dice with it," he said.

Crosby also spoke out about head shots in hockey, stating that he feels controlled hits to the head should be removed from the game.

Dr. Goldman urged the hockey star to go one step further and ask for a ban on all head shots.

"I think he should tell the hockey world he wants a ban on all head shots - deliberate and accidental - and that he won't play another game until the ban is in place," Goldman writes.

What do you think? Should the NHL ban all head shots?
