Who's your favourite Oscars host?

Comedian and actor Eddie Murphy has been announced as the host of the 84th Academy Awards.

It will be Murphy's first time hosting.

The Oscars are still six months away but comedian Billy Crystal has said he's "itchy" to host again.

Crystal, 63, has already hosted the annual Academy Awards ceremony eight times.

He said over the weekend that he's open to the suggestion that he host a ninth time, but refused to "promise anything."

"We'll see what happens," he said.

The academy and the producers of the awards gala refused to discuss the choice of host for 2012. The 84th Academy Awards are scheduled for Feb. 26, 2012.
