Parks Canada will celebrate its centennial on Saturday Parks Canada will celebrate its centennial on Saturday with 100 events in cities and towns across Canada.

The Parks Day events will feature outdoor concerts, with K'Naan performing in Vancouver, Les Trois Accords and Marie Mai in Montreal, and Sarah Harmer in Toronto.

There will also be opportunities to learn to camp, face painting, Parks Canada mascots and Olympic Gold medallists.

Parks Canada oversees 42 national parks, 167 historic sites, four national marine conservation areas and the gravesites of former prime ministers.

But it's the national parks system that has been an iconic institution for the last century.

What are your national park traditions? Do you frequent them often? Do you use them for camping, or hiking, or even simple picnicking? Send your stories, photos and videos of your favourite national parks moments.
