Mobile phone contest: Pick of the day

Today's pick for our July photo contest comes from fearhurst, who submitted this photo to our Community photo gallery.

"My four-year-old daughter and I watched this butterfly flap around the bushes in our backyard one afternoon last week," fearhurst wrote. "She thought it must have been the return of the caterpillar she kept in a glass container the week before, and let go near this very spot."

Fearhurst snapped the shot with an iPhone 4.

"Nice capture!" commented the CBC's multimedia producer John Rieti. when shown the picture.

"Adding the black frame around this picture was a nice choice," John said. "But the best part is how the shape of the butterfly's wings match the shape of the leaves."


The Community team is looking for your most creative mobile phone pictures and the Multimedia team will be on hand throughout the month to provide tips for getting the most out of your mobile phone's camera.

The contest winner will receive a prize courtesy of the CBC Shop.
