Staff at the Burrard Acura car dealership, for example, are facing a barrage of hate-filled emails after one employee - since fired - was identified on YouTube as a looter, the Vancouver Sun reported Wednesday.

The writers of the emails are threatening never to buy a car at the dealership because of its "support for vandals and looters," sales manager Patrick Almeida told the newspaper.

Several other local companies are in damage-control mode, the paper reported.

David Litherland, managing partner of the recruitment firm Summit Search Group BC, said he's heard from many worried clients in recent days whose employees have popped up on social networking sites seemingly participating in the violence.

Litherland said the pressures aren't just coming from outside sources. Heated confrontations between employees in the workplace have also been reported.

Do you think it's fair to boycott businesses whose employees took part in the Vancouver riots? Would you boycott a business for that reason? Please share your thoughts in the comments field below.
