Disappointed Connecticut viewers who are walking out of Terrence Malick's divisive film Tree of Life won't be given refunds, at least not at the Avon Theatre, reports Movieline.

In addition to the strict no-refunds policy in effect at the art-house movie theatre, a sign is now posted in the Avon's box-office window, instructing viewers about the merits of Malick's "deeply philosophical film" and inviting audiences to "expand your horizons with us."

The sign also suggests reading up about a film in advance is a good way to avoid seeing movies that are not suited to one's taste.

Is the Avon Theatre's sign an effective way to prevent further walkouts? Why or why not? Should movie theatres provide refunds to viewers who don't like a film? Share your thoughts in the comments field below.
