Though they generally get special treatment around the world, babies will no longer be sitting in first-class on Malaysian Airlines, according to Australian Business Traveller.

The airline has made the controversial decision to ban babies from the first-class cabins on its Boeing 747-400 fleet. Instead, infants are expected to travel in business class and economy sections that are equipped with bassinets.

The CEO for Malaysian Airlines, Tengku Azmil, has since defended the decision on Twitter, arguing that passengers in first class cabins frequently complain that "crying infants" are disrupting their sleep.

The airline also intends to extend the first-class baby ban to flights on its flagship Airbus A380.

Should babies be banned from flying in first class? And will this move hurt Malaysian Airlines' business? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
