New bills: What do you think of Canada's new bank notes?

The Bank of Canada have unveiled its new $50 and $100 bills - the first releases in a new series of plastic bank notes.

The $100 bill will come out first, in November 2011. The front of the bill features former prime minister Sir Robert Borden, with a scenes depicting the discovery of insulin on the back.

The $50 bill features former prime minister William Lyon Mackenzie King on the front and images of the Canadian Coast Guard Ship Amundsen, an arctic research vessel, on the back. It will be released in spring 2012.

The new bills are made of a new plastic polymer that are harder to fake, recyclable and two to three times more resistant to tearing, the Bank of Canada said.
