Deep fried Kool-Aid: Would you try it?

Categories: Health, World

Every summer, it seems like some daring foodie or junk food aficionado comes up with another deep fried snack that pushes the boundaries of flavour, texture and nutritional common sense.

In recent years, we've seen the emergence of deep fried butter, deep fried cola and even deep fried peaches and cream.

The crispy sensation that's got people buzzing this year is deep fried Kool-Aid. That's right, mobile food vendor Charlie Boghosian has been mixing the iconic sugary drink with flour, forming sweet little dough balls and fryin' 'em up. He sold 400 to 600 orders per day during the June 10 opening weekend of the San Diego County Fair, according to the website SignOnSanDiego.com.
