RRSP: Did you contribute?

The deadline to have your RRSP contribution count towards your 2010 taxes has passed.

Though you can make a contribution at any point in the year, you will only see the tax break applied to your 2010 income if you had contributed by midnight on Tuesday, March 1, 2011.

Research indicates that fewer Canadians are investing in RRSPs. The number of Canadians who contributed to an RRSP in the 2009 tax year actually fell about four per cent from the previous year to 5,967,000 -- about a quarter of all tax filers.
