Care for seniors: Is proper care inaccessible?

The issue of care for the elderly was back in the news this week as a 68-year-old Toronto woman suffering from dementia was found freezing in a garage.
Her son and daughter-in-law were charged Friday with failing to provide the necessities of life and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
Toronto's Scarborough Hospital hosted a forum about elder care in February. The topics included available community resources and the decision-making process.
Long waiting lists are often cited as an obstacle to obtaining care for seniors.
