The Canadian people trust health-care professionals to be there for them when they're ailing and need care. But what happens when it's the doctors, nurses, and specialists who need the help? As part of the unique CBC broadcast event Public Health, Private Lives, CBCNews.ca Your Voice has invited several health experts to discuss what kind of stress our health-care workers are under, how they cope, and what the societal consequences can be when they struggle with the pressure.

goldman-bio52.jpgDr. Brian Goldman, host of CBC Radio's White Coat, Black Art and
author of The Night Shift: Real Life in the Heart of the E.R., will host our discussion from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. ET, Wednesday, Dec. 8. Joining him will be
certified mental health counsellor and compassion fatigue specialist Francoise Mathieu, Toronto-area physician Dr. Peter Lin, Dr. Susan Edwards, director of resident wellness at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Medicine, and Irmajean Bajnok,
a director with the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario.

We encourage you to join the discussion on Wednesday and submit your questions. If you'd like to submit questions ahead of time, send them to yournews@cbc.ca or post them in our comments section.
