Canadians gathered in Ottawa and watched from across the country as the new U.S. President made his first State visit to Canada.
It was an opportunity for Prime Minister Stephen Harper and President Barack Obama to begin a positive working relationship between the two countries. It was also a day filled with great moments, beaver tails and Canadian cookies.
We started our coverage early with a live chat featuring Ottawa National affairs editor Chris Hall. Read the conversation.
On the day of the visit we featured a live blog with reports from the Hill, in depth coverage including background info on past Presidential visits, photos, videos and most importantly, a conversation with you. Over 16,000 of you, in fact! At our peak, just before 5 P.M., 16,237 of you were reading and participating in our live blog.
