According to Jack the plane was still smoking at 7 A.M., though safety crews managed to control the flames early on.

He braved the the howling wind and ice rain in Texas to get the shot. In his words:

"The fedX plane came down short of the runway both the pilot and co were safe. I'm assuming the landing gear buckled and it went down on one wing. The midnight shift here said there was quite a fire till they put it out.
At 7am it was still smoking but it was too dark to take a shot. The wind is howling here and it continues to ice rain.
The other news media where shivering beside me and were suprised when I said this weather makes me home sick."

Great shot! Thanks again for your submission. If you witness breaking news, send it to us.
