After a vital Hispanic electorate voted overwhelmingly to get U.S. President Barack Obama back into power in 2012, hopes are high from Latinos that he will introduce the kind of immigration reform that will help illegal Americans join the U.S. mainstream.

With 11 million illegal immigrants in the U.S., the majority of whom are Hispanic, the Hispanic-American vote is a new political power that politicians ignore at their own peril, reports CBC's Paul Hunter reports.
