Former media mogul Conrad Black has appeared on a British satirical show, defying the program's mockery of his convictions in the U.S. and claiming innocence.
Satirists on the show Have I Got News For You made constant jokes at the expense of Black, who used to control papers including the Chicago Sun-Times and Britain's Daily Telegraph.

But Black insisted on the show, which aired Friday, that he was wrongly convicted of fraud and obstruction of justice.
Responding, at one point, to a question from host Alexander Armstrong, Black asked if his answer, "require[d] the truth."
"I know you're not used to it," said Armstrong, drawing a laugh from the audience.
"I'm not used to hearing it, certainly," Black answered.
"Really? What about from a jury?" the host shot back.
Black has been on a media tour in the U.K., both promoting his new book and maintaining his innocence. Earlier this week, he clashed with two British journalists, hurling insults at them and criticizing their questions.
He told veteran interviewer Jeremy Paxman that he was proud to have endured their exchange without "smashing your face in."
During a subsequent interview with CBC, Black stood by his flashes of temper. "Ninety-nine per cent of the people subjected to the provocations and allegations and false charges and defamations that I have would have responded with a much shorter fuse," he said.
"I make Job look like a hothead," he added.
Black was released from a U.S. prison in May.
