Ex-captain convicted in shooting of wounded Taliban insurgent

Robert Semrau was dismissed from the Canadian Forces after he was found guilty of conduct unbecoming an officer in connection with the fatal shooting of a wounded Taliban insurgent in Afghanistan.
Semrau, whose case sparked a fierce debate over soldiers' ethics, had faced charges of second-degree murder, attempted murder and failure to perform a military duty in the incident that occurred on Oct. 19, 2008.
The former captain, who has just written a book The Taliban Don't Wave, spoke to CBC's The Current and was featured in an interview on The National.
