Prince Harry visited Canada House today, where he met with members of the silver-medal men’s eight rowing team and helped cheer on the Canadian women’s eight team as they earned silver.
Canada House on Trafalgar Square is the home of this country’s High Commission in London as well as a gathering place for athletes and officials during the 2012 Games.
Rower Malcolm Howard welcomed the prince and then handed him his silver medal. “Check it out. It’s pretty heavy, eh?”
The prince asked Howard how he was enjoying the Games.
“You know what? I’m just starting to enjoy it. We’ve been so focused … hotel, racing, and back and forth, so yesterday we got to come around the city a bit, and it’s just sinking in.”
Harry was asked about the best place in London was to hang out, but prompted laughter when he replied, “I don’t go out anymore, I’m too old.”
The prince later joined the assembled Canadians in watching the live broadcast as the women's eight rowers won their silver medal.
