An oblivious toddler clad in a black and white sweater drew the attention of a hungry lion at the Oregon Zoo, although thankfully protective glass prevented a more serious encounter.

The young boy eventually notices the large cat as it bites and paws furiously at the glass but he seems mostly unfazed, as his family laughs in the background and urges him to say hello to the "kitty."

Zoo officials in Portland, Ore., say the child's striped sweater may have fooled the animal into thinking he was a tiny zebra.
