An explosion hit a major oil pipeline feeding a refinery in Homs, Syria, on Wednesday, witnesses said. The blast struck the pipeline near a district being shelled by government troops.
Homs is home to one of Syria's two oil refineries and has also been one of the cities hit hardest in the crackdown against dissent that began in March.
The CBC's Ann MacMillan answers questions on Wednesday's pipeline attack in Syria.
