Remembering Canada's dead
- Loss and remembrance
- Recalling the lives of the 58 Canadians killed.
- One year later
- Projects aim to honour the memory of those who died and continue their generous work.
This timeline of Haiti's history begins with the Duvalier era and brings the history up to the Jan. 16, 2011 return of former Haitian dictator Jean-Claude (Baby Doc) Duvalier.
On the timeline, clicking on a dot or an event title brings up a description of the event. Right-clicking on a link in a description opens the link in a new window/tab. The sliders on the bottom expand or contract a time period.
For a short summary of Haiti's history before 1957, on this website there's Haiti's unhappy history. An earlier CBC News timeline gives more detail about events in Haiti from 2004 to mid-2006.
