Jurors in Los Angeles have rejected a paparazzo's lawsuit against actor Keanu Reeves.

After a few hours of deliberations Monday, the jury ruled that the Matrix star is not responsible for photographer Alison Silva's alleged injuries.

Silva had claimed that in March 2007, Reeves struck him with his car, which caused him to fall and aggravate a past injury to his wrist.

Over the course of the week-long civil trial, however, Reeves's lawyers argued that Silva had given contradictory statements to authorities about the incident.

They also screened a video — taken after the accident — that showed Silva descending a fence using his allegedly injured hand, while in hot pursuit of footage of pop star Britney Spears.

Silva had requested more than $700,000 US to compensate for medical bills, lost wages and for punitive damages.

Reeves, who testified early last week, remained in the courtroom throughout the trial.
