Two men who helped lead police to a pair of snipers who terrorized the Washington, D.C. area found out on Saturday what their reward will be.

Robert Holmes of Tacoma, Wash., will get $350,000 US, while Whitney Donahue of Greencastle, Pa., will get $150,000 US.

Donahue was at a rest area in Frederick County, Md., on Oct. 24, 2002 when he spotted the Chevy Caprice used by John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo.

The two were responsible for a rash of shootings that left 10 people dead in and around the Washington area.

Holmes went to the FBI and raised the possibility that his friend, Muhammad, could be the sniper.

Authorities received 60,000 tips during the investigation.

But a committee of local and federal law enforcement agencies decided unanimously to give Holmes and Donahue the money.

Muhammad has been sentenced to death for his part in the three-week shooting spree.

Malvo was sentenced to life in prison.
