World's longest dictionary released

It took 147 years to finish but Dutch and Flemish lexicographers have unveiled the world's longest dictionary.

It consists of 40 volumes, documenting words dating back to 1500. It was intended to be a model for all modern Dutch dictionaries.

Unfortunately, the dictionary is already out of date. It completed its work in 1976 and has no definitions for "Internet" and "yuppie."
