A man in southeastern Australia ran the equivalent of a half-marathon — 21 kilometres — inside a hot air balloon to raise money for charity.

Rob Ginnivan accomplished the feat with the help of a treadmill and a small generator up above the capital city Canberra, although the task was made more difficult because the basket swayed and tilted upwards slightly.

Ginnivan plans to raise $100,000 for the Heart Foundation by running on land, at sea and in the air.

"Geez, what a fantastic view it is," he said during the run.
