Donor nations pledge $4.5 billion for Sudan
Donor countries meeting in Oslo have pledged $4.5 billion to help Sudan restore and repair the war-ravaged south of the country.
The amount pledged exceeded Sudan's original request.
But the U.S. is warning Sudan that its contribution depends on progress to end the bloody conflict in the western Darfur region.
The funds will bolster a January deal ending a 21-year war between southern rebels and the government.
Two million people have died and four million have fled their homes in the conflict.
