What's happening now
Egypt's military rulers dissolved the country's parliament and suspended the constitution on Sunday, meeting two key demands of pro-democracy protesters in the wake of President Hosni Mubarak's ouster.
The military leadership also said it would form a committee to amend the constitution and set the rules for popular referendum to endorse the amendments.
The military also moved Sunday to restore order in Cairo after weeks of mass demonstrations, but troops faced some resistance as they tried to dismantle the protest camp at the heart of the anti-Mubarak movement.
