1. Philadelphia Freedom - Elton John (MCA)
I heard the original when I was about 10, and loved the energy of the song then. It seems to have only gotten better with age. |

2. I Don't Feel Like Dancin' - Scissor Sisters (Universal Records)
A few years ago this group opened the Brit Awards with a smoking hot performance of this song. Great upbeat music that ironically makes you feel like dancing! |

3. Sympathy For The Devil - Rolling Stones (ABKCO)
A classic. Something profoundly uplifting and disturbing about this song at the same time. |

4. Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - U2 (Island)
I have been a U2 fan for a long time. It was at a U2 concert that I visualized the crowd I would face at the Barcelona Olympics. My favorite version of this song is on Rattle and Hum with the choir. |

5. It's My Life - Bon Jovi (IDJMG/Island)
Both my business partner, Debbie Muir, and life partner, Rob Mabee, love this song. I like the lyrics, and having to hear it so much with them, it has grown on me. |

6. Just Can't Get Enough - Depeche Mode (Sire-Wbr)
So many of Depeche Mode's songs were dark, but this classic bar hit of the 80's saw me coming of age. It reminds me of dancing as a teenager, and all the silliness that goes along with that. |

7. Kiss - Prince (Warner Bros.)
Prince was my hero growing up. His Around the World in a Day album rocked my world. I didn't think it could much better than Raspberry Baret, and then he came out with Kiss. Such a funky, unique sound. |

8. Superwoman - Alicia Keys (BMG/J/RMB)
This song is like an anthem for empowerment. Focused on the kind of super strength that women have, often hidden, makes me sing at the top of my lungs with Alicia. |

9. Danny's Song - Anne Murray (Capitol)
I wanted to put a Canadian classic as part of my list. I used to drive to Banff (from Calgary) with this song blaring. Try NOT to sing along as you hit the Rockies. It is like the meeting of two Canadian icons. |

10. L'entometre Rebelle - Pierre Lapointe (Audiogram)
I had not been introduced to Pierre Lapointe until I moved to Montreal in 2002. He is a brilliant artist, and this song is one of my favorties. He performed it live at Place Des Arts with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. |
