Google unveils Dashboard personal info tool

Google on Thursday launched its new Dashboard application, which it says will allow users to better track their personal information stored by the company's various online tools.
The Dashboard displays each Google tool used, and gives the user access to their private data and security settings.
Dashboard brings together user information on search requests, plus account activity on YouTube, Gmail, Docs, Picasa and Blogger.
Previously, users had to check their personal information in each tool separately.
However, Dashboard does not gather data when a user is not signed in to a Google product.
The introduction of Dashboard is seen as a move by Google to placate some of the concerns among individuals and governments about the company's influence.
Google is the dominant force in the search engine market. Additionally, a huge amount of personal information is also stored by the company as more and more people use its growing list of online tools.
