Toronto Star launching afternoon edition online

The Toronto Star is set to launch North America's first downloadable, printable afternoon newspaper on Tuesday.
Star P.M. will be available weekday afternoons at 3:30 p.m. ET and will feature breaking news, traffic conditions and weather, as well as recipes and crossword and Sudoku puzzles.
There are also four pages that can be added on, covering sports, celebrity news, lifestyle and information for young adults.
The afternoon edition is a PDF download that can be printed on 8½" by 11" paper in colour or black and white.
Star publisher Michael Goldbloom said the afternoon edition is "designed to satisfy people's craving for breaking news and the up-to-the-minute information they need, in a format that meets their needs at the end of the day."
Advertisers for Star P.M. include the CBC, General Motors, Global TV, Loblaws and Mirvish Productions.
Although Star P.M. is the first afternoon downloadable edition in North America, the format has been used by European newspapers including the Financial Times and the Guardian.
