Stolen suitcase hurled onto track at Bloor-Yonge station forces brief rush hour closure

A stolen suitcase hurled onto the track at Bloor-Yonge station during rush hour this morning caused brief headaches for commuters.

Bloor-Yonge station was evacuated while police investigated an unattended suitcase

Did you ride the subway this morning? Were you a little late for work after a brief shutdown on Line 1 or 2?

This time, no one can blame the TTC.

That's because, according to police, a man hurled a stolen suitcase onto the northbound subway track at Bloor-Yonge station, forcing an evacuation of the station and delays on both major lines.

The suitcase has since been recovered by police and returned to its original owner, while service has resumed on both lines.
