ING Direct launched a "fee tweeter" application Thursday for tech-savvy types to let off steam about bank fees and keep track of how much they're being charged.

"We are listening to Canadians' concerns. That means, if they are talking on social media such as Twitter and Facebook, we want to be part of that conversation," Peter Aceto, ING Direct's CEO, said in a release.

Dutch-owned ING doesn't have regular bricks-and-mortar branches but instead operates one of several online banks in Canada. It says it is the first bank in the country to offer the computer application.

The bank is calling the service a way for users to share and compare their bank fees and voice their thoughts on "unfair bank fees."

People can use the service in two ways.

Those with Twitter accounts can tweet to @FeeTweeter. Every two weeks, users will receive a message about their total fees tweeted to date. Those who don't have a Twitter account can log in via a guest account.
