Politicians in a remote Russian region want to brand one of their tallest mountains with the logo of gas monopoly Gazprom.
The Altai Republic government website says an official expedition is expected to climb the 3,410-metre peak of the Kuraysky mountain ridge this summer to "mount a symbolism of a company."
It's not clear whether the peak currently has a name, but the proposal for the branding comes directly from the head of the Altai Republic, Alexander Berdniko.
The republic, which borders on Mongolia in the south, plans to send an official request to Russia's main geodesy and cartography department.
A street in the republic's Mayma village has already been named in honour of Gazprom and a new street in the capital Gorno-Altaisk will get a similar name.
Gazprom could not be reached for comment.
