For the second time this month, meat from a Quebec meat processor has been recalled because of possible listeria contamination.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a warning against three kinds of "Plaisirs Gastronomiques" brand sandwiches made with roast beef that tested positive for listeria.

Recalled sandwiches have a best before date up to and including Oct. 26.

The meat originates from Salaison Desco, a meat processor manufacturer based in Boisbriand, northeast of Montreal.

The sandwiches are only sold in Quebec, most commonly in supermarkets and vending machines, said Shashi Kulkarni, a CFIA recall specialist.

Salaison Desco also supplied Dunn's Restaurants with smoked meat recalled on Oct. 8.

Listeriosis can cause high fevers, headaches, neck stiffness and nausea.
