Colorado Rockies second baseman Kazuo Matsui swung the bat Thursday like Hideki Matsui, his slugging namesake in the American League.
Matsui drove in five runs and came within a single of the cycle as the Rockies rolled to a 10-5 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 2 of their National League Division Series before a crowd of 45,991 at Citizens Bank Park.

Matsui doubled in the third inning, hit a grand slam in the fourth, and tripled in the sixth.
No major leaguer has hit for the cycle in post-season play.
"I'm so happy that I'm here," Matsui said. "I didn't think about a grand slam at all.
"I just stepped into the batter's box and I tried to hit. I don't know why I played good today."
Colorado leads 2-0 in the best-of-five series, which shifts to Coors Field on Saturday (9:30 p.m. ET).
"I expect us to come out Saturday and play just like always before," Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said.
Troy Tulowitzki and Matt Holliday hit back-to-back home runs for the Rockies (90-73), whose only other post-season appearance was a four-game series loss to the Atlanta Braves in 1995.
Colorado clinched the wild card by winning a sudden-death playoff over the San Diego Padres, scoring three runs in the bottom of the 13th inning for a 9-8 victory, and prevailed 4-2 over the Phillies in Wednesday's series opener.
The Rockies have won eighth consecutive road games and 16 of 17 overall.
"We believe we're going to win every game," Rockies manager Clint Hurdle said. "We've been playing in the loser's bracket for a month.
"It has been about pure, simple execution. And appreciating the ride along the way."
Yorvit Torrealba plated two runs and rookie Seth Smith had the other run batted in.
Josh Fogg (1-0), normally a starter, tossed two innings of scoreless relief to earn the win, while rookie closer Manny Corpas notched his second save in as many days.
"It's just that time of the year," Fogg said, "You're a pitcher for the Rockies and whatever they ask you to take, you take."
Rude welcome for Morales
Rookie starter Franklin Morales pitched only three innings for the Rockies, permitting three runs on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts in his playoff debut.
Morales received a rude welcome from leadoff hitter Jimmy Rollins, who hammered his first pitch into the left-field seats for a solo homer.
Rollins drove in four runs and scored once for the Phillies (89-73), who snatched the NL East Division from the New York Mets on the final weekend of the regular season.
The Phillies last reached the playoffs in 1993, when they lost the World Series in six games to the Toronto Blue Jays.
Ryan Howard belted a solo homer off reliever Jeremy Affeldt in the sixth inning.
"We need to have short memories right now," Howard said.
Philadelphia starter Kyle Kendrick (0-1) yielded five runs on five hits and two walks with two strikeouts over 3 2/3 innings.
The rookie right-hander conceded consecutive homers to Tulowitzki and Holliday on his fifth and sixth pitches of the contest.
"The pitch to Tulowitzki, it was up and he put a pretty good swing on it," Kendrick said. "The pitch to Holliday, it was down and in and he also put a good swing on it."
Kyle Lohse, projected to start Game 4 for the Phillies, served up Matsui's grand slam.
