The Montreal Alouettes confirmed Wednesday that rookie defensive back Diamond Ferri is suffering from acute pancreatitis.
Ferri, 26, was admitted to hospital following Sunday's 32-14 victory over the British Columbia Lions, which he missed because of a stomach ailment.

He suspected the problem was simply food poisoning, but tests confirmed it was pancreatitis, an inflammation of the pancreas.
Commonly caused by gallstones, the condition isn't usually life-threatening.
Ferri ranks third on the Alouettes with 37 tackles to go with one sack in eight games.
The Stoneham, Mass., native played three games for the Arizona Cardinals last season before joining Montreal in May.
