Montreal consumers are being cautioned that some cans of Abbot Nutrition powdered infant formula have been labelled with false information, Canada's food watchdog said Thursday.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said an unauthorized distributor sent pharmacies cans of 900-gram Similac Advance Step 2 powdered infant formula bearing a sticker with false expiry and lot labels.
Abbot Nutrition does not place stickers on its cans but rather prints expiry and lot information directly onto the cans.
Consumers with cans bearing stickers are asked to contact the company at 1-800-699-9948.
No associated illnesses have been reported to the company.
