The injury bug has taken another bite out of the Toronto Blue Jays' pitching rotation – starter Gustavo Chacin was added to the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday.
The Jays' move is retroactive to May 11th, the day after Chacin's last start.
"It will do me good," Chacin told MLB.com. "They want to make sure that when I come back, I will be 100 per cent..."

"I have a chance to get my arm in shape again."
Chacin came out of a game against the Oakland Athletics last Wednesday after three innings complaining of a sore pitching arm. Tests showed he had mild elbow sprain.
Blue Jays general manager J.P. Ricciardi said Chacin's placement on the disabled list was "precautionary."
Chacin is eligible to come off the disabled list May 26th. Since the Jays have a day off scheduled for next week, they will only need a fill-in pitcher for one start.
Expected to get the nod is Ty Taubenheim. The right-hander is 2-2 with a 1.24 earned-run average in seven starts with the Jays' Triple-A minor-league team in Syracuse.
Chacin is the second Jays starter to go down with an arm injury this season. A. J. Burnett, one of Ricciardi's high-priced off-season acquisitions, hasn't pitched since April 21 because of an elbow injury.
It's uncertain when Burnett will return. Casey Janssen is currently filling Burnett's spot in Toronto's rotation.
The Jays are currently in the midst of a nine-game road trip. On Tuesday, Toronto opened a three-game series in Anaheim with a 8-3 loss to the Los Angeles Angels.
