Residents of Chetwynd are threatening to sue Pembina Pipelines over last year's oil spill into the Pine River in northern British Columbia.
- From August 2, 2000: Oil spill threatens B.C. town's water supply
The town's residents used to draw their drinking water from the river. Now they're spending millions to drill new wells.
Townspeople want Pembina Pipelines to pay.
Pembina's insurer, Lloyd's of London, after much persuasion has agreed to talk to the town June 26.
Residents say if they don't get satisfaction from the insurance company, they may go to the courts.
