The two, were apprehended by Chinese authorities after they unfurled a 'Free Tibet' banner at a contract-signing ceremony during the Team Canada mission in Beijing.
Members of the Team Canada trade mission watched and taunted the students as security guards took them away. Some Canadian businesspeople shouted at the pair to "shut up."
The business delegations are signing more than 200 deals with China, worth about $5 billion.

The incident happened shortly after Prime Minister Chretien delivered a major speech on human and legal rights to Chinese judges on Tuesday.
The pair were held without charge for a few hours in a hotel. The two are now with Canadian embassy officials. A third protestor, from Victoria, wasn't detained.
All three are expected to get on the next available flight back to Canada.
Tibet is considered by Beijing to be Chinese territory, but the region has struggled for half a century for autonomy.
