NDP leadership candidate Maynard Sonntag received a major boost to his campaign Thursday morning. Two former provincial cabinet ministers, Berny Wiens and Bob Long, announced their endorsement of his campaign, saying Sonntag is the best candidate to tackle rural issues.
The former chief commissioner of the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission, Donna Greschner, is also backing Sonntag's leadership bid. She says she is particularly impressed with his policies on education.
