The Dominion Institute says Saskatchewan should make Canadian History a mandatory subject in High School.

The Saskatchewan curriculum lets High School students take Native Studies or Social Studies instead of Canadian History.

Regina High School students say they prefer having a choice. They say they are old enough to choose their subjects of study.

Nova Scotia and New Brunswick were also rated poorly by the institute.

The Dominion Institute is a national organization with a mandate to promote Canadian history.
