New research presented at a headache conference in London on Tuesday, suggests that the web-based headache assessment test can help doctors and patients better diagnose and treat one of the most common human complaints.
The Headache Impact Test was developed by QualityMetric Inc. and drug giant Glaxo-Wellcome. It's based on a questionaire that measures the severity and impact of headaches.
An estimated 96 per cent of women and 91 per cent of men suffer from some kind of headache over the course of their lives. The symptoms range from mild to crippling pain. Migraines, among the most severe of all headaches, afflict 120-million people in the developed world.
