A group of nurses from Riverview Hospital protested outside Health Minister Mike Farnworth's constituency office Friday. The nurses are angry about what they call deteriorating medical standards.
Several dozen members of the Union of Psychiatric Nurses, the B.C. Nurses Union and the B.C. Government Employees Union says that after three years of cutbacks, they've had enough.
Stu Jackson heads the Union of Psychiatric Nurses. He says his members are worried about the elimination of the medical ward, the lack of weekend supervision, and the overall decline in standards of care.
Jackson says the nurses want action on their concerns, instead of what they see as a continuing decline.
